Senior News: November 11, 2015

Notes

I just received word that another of our long-time members has passed away. Donna Lasater  passed away on Saturday morning (Nov. 7). She was our board secretary for many years and took all the notes in shorthand. We all missed her when she wasn’t well enough to come to the center. Our condolences to her family.

We are not open on Saturdays any more until the Farmers Market starts in the spring. Our Christmas Sale does start on Nov. 21. The sale room is starting to look a lot like a department store at Christmas time, with many new gifts and lots of decorations, trees, stands and lights.

There will not be another dance until February due to Hottells being gone and because of the holidays.

The Thrift Store is open Monday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m.–3:30 p.m.

The Senior Center is located next to the Methow Valley Community Center on Highway 20 in Twisp. Lunch is served at noon by the Okanogan County Transportation and Nutrition Program on Monday, Thursday and Friday. The suggested donation for lunch is $3.50 for seniors over age 60; the cost is $8 for those under 60. Annual membership dues are $1.25.

Transportation is available locally for the senior lunch program, and for monthly trips to Omak/Okanogan the second Tuesday of the month and to Wenatchee the third Tuesday of the month. Call the Senior Center at 997‑7722 for additional details.
