Veterans Day closures, outages

November 9, 2015 by Methow Valley News

It’s open to speculation how much anyone will be able to get done next Wednesday (Nov. 11), the Veterans Day holiday. Post offices, banks, libraries, school districts and all levels of government — local, county, state and federal — will be taking the day off.

That will be complicated by a power outage planned by the Okanogan County Public Utility District from 6 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Wednesday (5:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. for Okanogan County Electric Cooperative customers), affecting the area from Carlton to Mazama. Emergency services will still be available.

The Methow Valley News office will also be closed Wednesday.

There will be an additional five-hour nighttime power outage from 11 p.m. Thursday night on Nov. 12 until approximately 4 a.m. Friday morning on Nov. 13.
