I’ve been gone for a week so am not sure what has happened around the center. But I know we had a great trip to Montana, seeing grandkids and great-grandkids and touring Yellowstone Park, and thinking we got home over those passes in the nick of time. Old man winter is not far away, and we still need a snow-shoveler who has a snow blower to clean sidewalks at the center. If you do, or know someone who does, contact the center and leave a message, or call 997-0052.
Blood pressure checks are on Thursday (Nov. 5) before lunch. Dance day is Friday (Nov. 6), and our Veterans Day program and lunch had to changed to Tuesday (Nov. 10) at 11 a.m. because of the power outage the PUD has scheduled for Wednesday (Nov. 11). If you are a veteran or know someone who is, please come, and spread the word.
I am starting to set up the Christmas room already. The first day of the sale will be Nov. 21.
The Thrift Store is open Monday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
The Senior Center is located next to the
Methow Valley Community Center on Highway 20 in Twisp. Lunch is served at noon by the Okanogan County Transportation and Nutrition Program on Monday, Thursday and Friday. The suggested donation for lunch is $3.50 for seniors over age 60; the cost is $8 for those under 60. Annual membership dues are $1.25.
Transportation is available locally for the senior lunch program, and for monthly trips to Omak/Okanogan the second Tuesday of the month and to Wenatchee the third Tuesday of the month. Call the Senior Center at 997-7722 for additional details.

THURSDAY, NOV. 5: Macaroni and cheese with ham, green beans, tossed green salad, peaches, bran muffins, pudding.
FRIDAY, NOV. 6: Lasagna, carrots, Caesar salad, garlic bread, berry crisp.
MONDAY, NOV. 9: Baked chicken, stuffing, corn, green salad, pears, whole wheat roll, lemon bars.
THURSDAY, NOV. 12: Shepherd’s pie, Caesar salad, cottage cheese, pineapple, whole wheat roll, frosted cake.
FRIDAY, NOV. 13: Tuna sandwich, clam chowder, coleslaw, apricots, ice cream.
