Argentinean dance company coming

Combinado Argentino de Danza, a contemporary dance company based in Buenos Aires, will perform on Oct. 30 at the Winthrop Barn. Formed by dancers, musicians, a DJ, beat boxer, and percussionist, the company’s members combine diverse genres including contemporary, hip-hop, and traditional Argentinean folkloric dance under the direction of Andrea Servera. The show begins at 7 p.m. For more information, call 997-4004.

Three days of GuitarFest

Cascadia GuitarFest 2015, featuring guitarists Edel Muñoz, Isabel Diaz Bello, Rico Stover and Terry Hunt, will be presented Nov. 6–8 in Twisp.

On Nov. 6, Hunt will perform at The Merc Playhouse at 7 p.m. Hunt will perform both solo works and with an ensemble consisting of piano, violin, guitar, cello, alto flute and tenor in a performance of his new work based on poems by Wendell Berry. The second half of the concert will include a multi-media presentation on Latin American guitar music by internationally renowned guitarist and scholar Rico Stover. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students.

On Nov. 7, also at The Merc Playhouse at 7 p.m., Cuban guitarists Edel Munoz and Isabel Diaz Bello will perform as soloists and as a duo. The program includes music by Bach, Barrios, Rodrigo and Moreno Torroba, among others. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for students.

On Nov. 8, Stover will host cabaret guitar at Twisp River Suites beginning at 6 p.m. The ticket price of $20 will include music and hors d’ouvres.

Tickets for Nov. 6 and 7 can be purchased online at brownpapertickets.com, or at the door. Reservations for Nov. 8 can be made by calling 997-0100.
