Sun Mountain hosts Jeff Lowe documentary

Metanoia, an award-winning documentary chronicling the climbing career, chaotic personal life, and heroic ALS battle of mountaineering legend Jeff Lowe, will be screened at 7 p.m. Friday (Oct. 9) at Sun Mountain Lodge in conjunction with EASE Cancer. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students, at www.brownpapertickets.com or at the door. For more information, call 996-2211.

Merc seeks performers for holiday show

The Merc Playhouse in Twisp is seeking singers, dancers, speakers and actors — kids and adults alike — for its holiday-themed variety show, Winter Wonder II, Holidays in The Methow. Performances are Dec. 4 – 13.

The Merc will provide rehearsal space. Technical rehearsals bringing all acts together begin Nov. 21.

Contra dancing at the grange

Try contra dancing at a community folk dance with music by La Famille Leger on Saturday (Oct. 10) at the Twisp Valley Grange. Suggested donation is $8, or whatever you can pay. The dance begins at 7 p.m. For more information, call (206) 734-5623.

Horse Crazy performs in Tonasket

The Methow Valley’s widely renowned Horse Crazy Cowgirl Band will perform Oct. 16 at the Community Cultural Center in Tonasket. Dinner is included for $20; tickets for the music only are $15. The event begins at 6 p.m. For more information, call (509) 486-1328.
