League-leading Okanogan powered past the Liberty Bell High School volleyball team, 3-0, on Oct. 29, but the Lady Lions bounced back with a 3-1 win over Manson two days later.
That win moved Liberty Bell into contention for a playoff spot at the season’s midpoint.
Coach Tim Boonstra said he was pleased with the Lady Lions’ play at Manson, particularly their improved consistency in serving.
“We served the ball as well as we ever have,” Boonstra said. “We were really aggressive. When everyone is scoring points with serves, that’s when we are most effective.”
Liberty Bell hosted Lake Roosevelt, one of the teams it is battling for a playoff spot, on Tuesday (Oct. 6) and will play at Tonasket on Thursday (Oct. 8). The Lady Lions will be back at home next Tuesday (Oct. 13) to play Oroville.
