Grant will help recovery
The North Central Washington Economic Development District has received an $85,875 grant to conduct an economic resiliency plan in the communities of Brewster, Pateros, Twisp and Winthrop, which were affected by the 2014 Carlton Complex Fires.
The district will hire a consultant who will conduct data analysis and public participation activities. The consultant will then produce and publish a written plan identifying needed recovery projects, which will be used to access state and federal grant funding for economic development and infrastructure projects in the affected communities. A steering committee for the study held its first meeting earlier this month.
