Deirdre Cassidy has been hired as coordinator for Methow At Home, a local nonprofit group whose goal is to help elders stay in their homes as long as they like and stay involved in the community’s civic and cultural life.
Cassidy has lived in the Methow Valley for 20 years and has 30 years of teaching experience.
MAH is a membership organization that pairs volunteers with elders and provides information about services beyond what Methow At Home can offer. It now has 70 members and 20 volunteers. When operational in early 2016, volunteers will help elder members with driving to appointments, shopping, errands, etc.; minor handyman services, light housekeeping, gardening or snow shoveling; personal support like pet walking, meal preparation or help de-cluttering and more.
