Notes
Our hallway has been a little congested due to the two big boxes sitting in front of the bookcase. These are our new stove and oven that we are excited about getting hooked up soon. So bear with us for a while longer.
This cooler weather makes one want a warmer shirt or sweater. So the place to get some great warm clothes is the Senior Center sidewalk sale on Sept. 12 from 9 a.m.-noon; then the main sale with all the winter needs including sleds and snowshoes on Sept. 19 from 8:30 a.m.–1 p.m. The Western sidewalk sale was cancelled due to the rodeo being cancelled.
Sue Sabin was the winner of the gift basket with the pretty sunflowers in it.
Friday (Sept. 4) is dance day with the Hottells after lunch, so come and join in.
It’s so nice to be smoke-free again. Let’s hope the month of September remains calm, with no more fires or washouts.
The Thrift Store is open on Saturdays during Farmers Market hours. The shop is also open Monday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
The Senior Center is located next to the Methow Valley Community Center on Highway 20 in Twisp. Lunch is served at noon by the Okanogan County Transportation and Nutrition Program on Monday, Thursday and Friday. The suggested donation for lunch is $3.50 for seniors over age 60; the cost is $8 for those under 60. Annual membership dues are $1.25.
Transportation is available locally for the senior lunch program, and for monthly trips to Omak/Okanogan the second Tuesday of the month and to Wenatchee the third Tuesday of the month. Call the Senior Center at 997-7722 for additional details.
