County issues permit for Twisp tow yard

August 12, 2015 by Methow Valley News

The Okanogan County hearing examiner approved a conditional-use permit for Classic Towing to operate a towing operation, impound yard and repair shop a mile south of Twisp on Highway 20.

The permit issued by Hearing Examiner Dan Beardslee on July 29 requires the owners, Tyler and Jeremy Welborn, to shade all outdoor lighting so it is cast downward and does not shine off the property. Beardslee stipulated that no commercial vehicle repair is permitted on the property. Any expansion in the type or scope of the operation would require an amendment to the permit.

Conditional-use permits are required for any auto towing or storage lots in the Methow Review District.

The impound yard and repair shop will encompass half of the 2-acre lot. The existing residence will remain.
