Okanogan County Electric Cooperative (OCEC) is looking for a co-op member to serve on its board of directors starting this fall. Members living anywhere in the area served by OCEC can be candidates.
Dave Gens, one of the at-large board members, is moving out of the area and will resign his position at the end of August. A replacement will be chosen by majority vote of the remaining board members no later than Oct. 31. The term will expire April 2018, at which time the director can run for election to the position if they would like to continue.
To begin the process of filling the position OCEC asks members interested in serving to send their name, contact information, and a brief explanation of why they are interested and what knowledge and/or skills they bring to the board. Candidates will be interviewed by the board before a selection is made.
The board typically meets the fourth Monday of each month at 3 p.m. and meetings are open to all members.
Those interested in becoming a candidate can send information by email to info@ocec.coop, drop it at the OCEC office, or send by mail to OCEC, P.O. Box 69, Winthrop, WA 9886. For questions contact General Manager David Gottula at 996-2228 or board president Curtis Edwards at (509) 341-4110.
