Chase Rost, the Methow Valley School District’s new activities director, will host an open house for community members and prospective coaches on Aug. 9 from 8 a.m.– 1 p.m. at Liberty Bell Junior/Senior High School.
Rost most recently was athletic director for the Bickleton School District in Klickitat County for two years. He has a bachelor’s degree in exercise management from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, and a master’s degree in athletic administration from Central Washington University. Rost was a three-sport athlete in high school and a cross-country and track athlete in college.
Rost will be looking to fill a number of fall sport coaching vacancies: Head coach and assistant coach for high school football; assistant coach for high school volleyball; assistant coach for high school girls’ soccer; and head and assistant coaches for junior high football.
“We are looking for some community members who are passionate about kids and who understand the educational importance of our athletic programs,” Rost said in a press release. “I want anyone interested in coaching to know that we’ll be working hard to give you the best training and to develop your coaching abilities. Please visit me at the open house with your interest, questions, and concerns.”
