Tool-making is a primitive skill you can learn.

Primitive skills class offered

Primitive skills instructor Lynx Vilden and Living Wild are offering a summertime basic skills class July 17–23.

Located at a camp 12 miles up Twisp River Road, the Living Wild Basic Skills class will cover the fundamentals of primitive living skills such as edible wild plants, fire by friction, shelter building, containers and primitive tool-making.

Cost is $600, with a $200 discount for Methow Valley residents, and includes two meals a day and on-site camping. For more information or to sign up, call 997-0511 or email lynxvilden@gmail.com.

Marrone a Blue Sky co-owner

Local real estate veteran Heather Marrone is now a co-owner, with Sherry Malotte and Anne Eckmann, of Blue Sky Real Estate in Winthrop. Marrone has been a real estate agent in the valley since 2007 and previously had an ownership stake in the John L. Scott franchise in Winthrop. Marrone is a graduate of Lehigh University and served as a communications officer in the U.S. Army, including a tour in Iraq. Her husband, Michael, owns the Methow Valley Veterinary Hospital in Winthrop.
