McCollum exhibit at Methow Gallery

The Methow Gallery at TwispWorks is exhibiting works by local artist Mary Lou McCollum. The gallery is open Thursday and Friday from
noon–5 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m.–3 p.m. Visitors can also see and purchase the work of Methow Valley artists Terry Hunt, Donna Keyser, Laura Karcher and Matthew Armbrust.

R&B festival is tuning up

Elvin Bishop, Bobby Rush, Los Lonely Boys and perennial favorites Too Slim and the Taildraggers will be among the impressive lineup of performers at the 28th annual Winthrop Rhythm & Blues Festival on July 17–19 at the Blues Ranch just west of Winthrop. Also scheduled to appear are Ayron Jones and The Way, the California Honeydrops, DoctorFunK, The Soul of John Black, Mary Flower, Samantha Fish, Kenny Neal, Lady “A,” Stan Street, Studebaker John and the Hawks, Duffy Bishop Band, Curley Taylor and Zydeco Trouble, Polly O’Keary and the Methow Juke Joint Allstars.

The festival kicks off Friday night with a special concert in the beer garden. Admission to that show is $10 or free with a festival weekend pass. The festival’s producer, the nonprofit Winthrop Music Association, will donate proceeds to The Cove Food Bank.

Tickets for all three days are $90 in advance through tickettomato.com or $100 at the gate. Children 12 and under are admitted free if accompanied by an adult. There is camping on the site. For information, visit www.winthropbluesfestival.com.
