USFS: Post-fire road repairs continue

June 26, 2015 by Methow Valley News

Repair work continues on roads damaged by last year’s Carlton Complex Fire and summer storms, the U.S. Forest Service said this week.

Burned Area Emergency Recovery, or BAER funds are helping to replace damaged culverts and make repairs, the Forest Service said.

• Crews recently reported that the Volstead Road has been repaired and is re-opened for public travel.

• Benson Creek road repairs are complete, and the gates have been opened.

• Work on the Cougar Creek Road should be completed before July 1.

• Culvert replacement and other repairs on the South Summit and spur roads is progressing north from the 4100 and 4150-300 junction.

Road, trail and campground information is updated regularly at www.fs.usda.gov/recmain/okawen/recreation.
