Terra Zoo’s “power trio” sound is at the Methow Valley Community Center.

Terra Zoo, a rock “power trio” made up of Methow Valley natives, performs in a 7 p.m. concert on Saturday (June 27) at the Methow Valley Community Center in Twisp.

Terra Zoo is Jay Ames, Wes Smith and Greg Autrey, who started playing together in the early 1980s when they were students at Liberty Bell High School.

Ames — lead vocalist, bass and guitar player, songwriter, keyboard player and producer for the group — said Terra Zoo plays “classic tri-powered rock sounds of an era that produced some of the greatest rock bands ever.” Smith is the lead guitarist and Autrey plays drums.

Ames has been involved in the music business as a performer, writer (nearly 100 songs) and producer since the 1980s.

Ames said the group hopes to add some other performers at the concert.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $10, which includes a copy of Terra Zoo’s recently released, 11-song CD, “All your love in a lifetime.” Tickets are available at www.brownpapertickets.com. For more information, visit www.terrazooseattle.com.

Terra Zoo will perform a benefit concert at The Pavilion in Chelan on July 11. Methow Valley group Wild Mountain Nation will also perform in Chelan.
