That grub may be grub

The Methow Conservancy sponsors the “Bug Chef,” author David George Gordon, at the Winthrop Barn on July 1. The free event begins at 7 p.m. Gordon, author of The Eat-a-bug Cookbook, will talk about “adventures in entomophagy” (the practice of eating insects). For more information, call 996-2870.

Legalities of conservation easements

The Methow Conservancy will host a free workshop on the nuts and bolts of conservation easements on July 1 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Three Bears Cafe in Winthrop. The workshop, conducted by local attorney Travis Thornton, is tailored for lawyers, real estate agents and brokers who want to know how to work with clients interested in buying, selling or protecting property with a conservation easement. Lunch will be provided. Register by calling 997-2870 or emailing info@methowconservancy.org.

Benefit for Hallowell

The Methow Valley Eagles Aerie 2548 will host a breakfast buffet benefit for Vicki Hallowell, who is being treated for cancer, on Sunday (June 28) from 9 a.m. – noon. There will also be a silent auction and raffle. Hallowell is the clerk for the Twisp Police Department. For more information, call (509) 322-3341.
