Lester Lee Sansaver

Lester Lee Sansaver was born Feb. 23, 1940. Lester passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on June 12, 2015.

Born in Poplar, Montana, on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation, he moved to Everett, Washington, when he was a youngster and met the love of his life, Phyllis Boland. They married in 1958 and raised their three children in Granite Falls, Washington, on the farm where the family still lives today.

Throughout his colorful life, he was a loving husband, father, farmer, cook and outdoorsman. Lester loved cookin’ up a mean pot o’ chili, hosting parties for his friends and family, and most of all he loved wheelin’ and dealin’.

Over the years Les made countless friends from many walks of life. He was a member of the Riverside Rats and the Laborers Local 292 Everett. Les also was a member of the F.O.E Aerie No. 2584 in Twisp. He made a lasting impression on everyone he met and will be deeply missed.

Twisp was his second home, where he was chief of the Rowdy Bunch, and where he loved his apple and pear trees, changing sprinkler pipes, and pointing his finger.

Les was preceded in death by his mother Flora, father Jack, and brothers Rick and Ron Sansaver.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Sansaver; his children, Danny, Darcy, and Tamara; and his granddaughter, Carly. Les also leaves behind his brothers Bob, Jack and Gordon, as well as his sister Darlene; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws, who will never forget his larger-than-life personality. He will be missed by many and forgotten by few.

A celebration of life potluck will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, at the Granville Grange, 9401 163rd Ave. N.E., Granite Falls, WA 98252. Please bring a story to share.

In lieu of flowers, Les would have wanted cash.
