I am a Flash Flood

June 11, 2015 by Methow Valley News

By Lane Darwood

I am from

houses washed away,

mud, metal,

water, and rocks

coming down on the road.

Trees, cabins,

and hay barns;

other houses are destroyed, too.

And it brought a lot of logs

down to the road.

I am from

scared people,

driving through mud

and water to get

away from home.

I am from

Benson Creek,

Finley Canyon,

Highway 153,

and the Methow Valley.

Lane Darwood is a third-grader at Methow Valley Elementary School
