U.S. at war, and path to peace

Dana Visalli offers a free talk and PowerPoint presentation titled “America at War and the Path to Peace: Lessons from Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan,” on Friday (June 12) at The Merc Playhouse in Twisp beginning at 7 p.m.

Visalli has visited Iraq and Afghanistan four times each since the United States went to war with those countries, including volunteering for an environmental organization in Iraq (called Nature Iraq) and teaching at a girl’s school in Kabul (School of Leadership Afghanistan). This spring he toured Vietnam with a group of American Vietnam War veterans who now live in Vietnam, trying to undo some of the damage inflicted on the people and the land during the war there. For more information, call 997-9011.
