Classic Towing has submitted an application to Okanogan County for a conditional-use permit to operate a towing operation, impound yard and repair shop one mile south of Twisp on Highway 20.
The impound yard and repair shop will encompass half of the 2-acre lot and will have fencing to obscure the impound yard and new buildings for an office and shop. There will be three or four parking spaces for customers, according to the application. The existing building will remain as a residence.
A conditional-use permit is required for auto towing and storage lots in the Methow Review District. The decision on the permit will be made by the county’s hearing examiner.
The Okanogan County planning director has determined the project would have no significant environmental impacts.
People may comment on the environmental impacts and on the project itself. Environmental comments must be submitted by Wednesday (June 17) to Anna Randall at email@example.com.
Comments on the project itself will be handled separately and no date has been set for that phase.
