The Young Writers Conference took place at Methow Valley Elementary School.

The students are doing activities in writing and creativity.

One of the activities was journalism with Don Nelson and Darla Hussey.

The students looked at old newspapers from 1915, 1985, and 2005, and the students recognized some of the people in the older newspapers.

They especially noted how different the prices were many years ago.

The third and fourth graders were exploring old newspapers and comparing old to new.

And how different the newspapers were in the past, especially the use of color in photographs, and the format of the paper.

And the students learned about photography from Darla.

The students asked many good questions, and then helped write this story.

Avery had duct tape on her mouth, and nobody knew why.

The students were Melody, Tristan S., Macey C., Brayden, Fischer, Aksel, Rhain, Kenny, Riley L., Peyton L., and Avery.
