Small business workshops
The federal Small Business Administration (SBA) is offering several business workshops by the Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) in Wenatchee over the next few months:
May 12 — “Developing Your Marketing Plan”
May 19 — “Marketing for the Internet”
June 9 — “How to Buy or Sell a Business”
June 23 — “How to Choose and Buy the Right Franchise”
July 14 — “Understanding Financial Statements”
July 21 — “Managing Your Money”
Sept. 8 — “Financial Fundamentals of Running a Business”
Sept. 22 — “Cash Flow Management”
Oct. 6 — “Record Keeping and Taxes”
Oct. 20 — “Working With Your Bank”
All meetings will be held in the SCORE Office at 2 South Chelan St., from noon–2 p.m. The fee for each workshop is $25 or $100 for six workshops. Register by calling the SCORE office at (509) 888-2900.
Speaking of bikes
Joe Brown, co-owner of Methow Cycle & Sport in Winthrop, was an invited panelist at the Washington Bike Summit on March 16-17. The presentation was entitled “Bikes Mean Business: the Power of Bicycle Tourism and Travel.” Speakers shared what their respective businesses and organizations are doing to promote bicycle tourism in Washington state.
