Keith Holbrook, 67, pleaded not guilty last week in Okanogan County Superior Court on charges that he burned down his house on South Fork Gold Creek Road last July after it survived the Carlton Complex wildfire.
Holbrook is charged with one count of first-degree arson and one count of possession of an incendiary device.
A pre-trial hearing in the case is scheduled for June 29 in Okanogan County Superior Court, and a trial date has been set for July 21, said Karl Sloan, Okanogan County prosecutor.
Holbrook was arrested in Wenatchee on April 29 and booked into Chelan County Regional Justice Center. He was released on $10,000 bail.
According to a police investigation filed with the court, a home owned by Holbrook at 193 South Fork Gold Creek Road was destroyed by fire on July 21 although wildfires burning in the area never reached the house. The investigation described flammable substances found near the home.
