May 23: Western Sale
Notes
We had another great Western clothing sidewalk sale on Saturday. Now for the big sale on Memorial Day weekend, May 23. Come in early and have breakfast at 7 a.m. — biscuits and gravy, ham, fruit and drinks. The cost is $7 for big cowboys and girls, and $3 for little buckaroos. Thanks to everyone who has donated such wonderful items. See you all there.
We are in need of paper bags of the grocery store variety again.
We are getting a lot of TVs and larger furniture left on the porch. Please don’t drop these things off. Methow Recycles will take your old TVs. We don’t want to have to get cranky again and track people down, but we will if all else fails. But we don’t want to look like a dump either.
The Thrift Store is open on Saturdays during Farmers Market hours. The shop is also open Monday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
The Senior Center is located next to the Methow Valley Community Center on Highway 20 in Twisp. Lunch is served at noon by the Okanogan County Transportation and Nutrition Program on Monday, Thursday and Friday. The suggested donation for lunch is $3.50 for seniors over age 60; the cost is $8 for those under 60. Annual membership dues are $1.25. For more information, call 997-7722.
Transportation is available locally for the senior lunch program, and for monthly trips to Omak/Okanogan the second Tuesday of the month and to Wenatchee the third Tuesday of the month. Call the Senior Center at 997-7722 for additional details.
