What qualities and characteristics would you like to see in the next principal for Methow Valley Elementary School?
The Methow Valley School District invites community members to provide suggestions about qualifications and other priorities for the district to use in hiring the next principal. People can make suggestions at a community forum on Monday (April 20) from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Methow Valley Elementary library. They can also email their ideas to Methow Valley School District Superintendent Tom Venable at email@example.com.
The district is also inviting parents and community members to apply to serve on the principal interview committee. They plan a committee of six to eight people composed of administrators, faculty and staff, and two members of the community, said Venable. People can fill out applications at the meeting or pick them up at the district office. Call 996-9205 for more information.
The district has already begun receiving applications for the job. They anticipate that interviews will take place in the first two weeks of May, after an additional screening, said Venable.
Interim principal Anne Andersen is stepping out of the job after one year to become the district’s International Baccalaureate coordinator.
