After their first home game of the season was cancelled, the Liberty Bell High School boys’ soccer team went on the road to Okanogan on Thursday (April 2), where they dropped a 3-2 decision.
The Mountain Lions had been scheduled to play Manson on March 31 before that match-up was cancelled.
Against Okanogan, Nate Hirsch and Adrian Cassilas scored Liberty Bell’s goals, Hirsch on an assist from Charlie Thornton-White.
“Charlie served up a beautiful assist to Nate, who was in the right place for an easy finish,” said coach Lincoln Post. “Adrian scored on a long shot to the far upper 90.”
In a junior varsity match, Liberty Bell bested Okanogan by 2-0. Liberty Bell’s goals were scored by Braden Charette on a free kick, and Robert Satzger on an assist from Nick Fitzmaurice.
“Both teams played really well,” Post said. “We are just about halfway through our season with eight of our nine remaining games at home.
“We were missing 10 of our 32 players last week, so spring break will be a good time for our injured and sick players to recuperate so that we can finish our season with a full team.”
The Mountain Lions will host Brewster on Tuesday (April 14) at 4 p.m.
