A fire destroyed a mobile home at 804 Twisp-Winthrop Eastside Road early Sunday morning (March 15), as well as two vehicles parked next to it.
One occupant was in the home but was outside and unhurt when firefighters from Okanogan County Fire District 6 arrived, and was looked after at the scene by Aero Methow Rescue Service, said Cody Acord, assistant fire chief.
The mobile home and vehicles were fully involved when firefighters arrived after receiving a call about 1 a.m., Acord said.
The Mazama and Twisp stations responded to the fire along with the Winthrop station. Acord said only about 10 firefighters were available to respond. “That’s pretty much the minimum for a structure fire,” he said.
Crews stayed at the scene for about five hours, Acord said. No cause of the fire has been determined, he said.
