Wild Reverence: the Wild Steelhead’s Last Stand, a documentary film by Shane Anderson, will be shown on Tuesday (March 24) at the Twisp River Pub. The free event, sponsored by the Cascade Columbia Fisheries Enhancement Group, begins at 7 p.m. For information, call 997-6822 or visit ccfeg.org.
Readers’ Theater presents award-winning play
The Merc Playhouse Readers’ Theater will offer two performances of the award-winning play Circle Mirror Transformation on March 27 and 28 in Twisp.
The play, by Annie Baker, is directed by Ki Gottberg, The Merc’s artistic director. According to a press release, the play “centers on drama classes a group of wildly different-from-each-other folks are taking at a community center in their town. The play is funny, poignant, and heartfelt.”
Circle Mirror Transformation opened off-Broadway in 2009 and received the Obie Award for Best New American Play.
Cast members are John Bonica, Danica Ready, Christine Kendall, Cece Odell, Aristides Pappidas and Carolanne Steinebach.

Documentary explores soil
Symphony of the Soul, a documentary film by Deborah Koons Garcia, will be shown on March 31 at the Methow Valley Community Center in Twisp. The free event begins at 7 p.m., and is presented by the Okanogan Conservation District and U.S. Forest Service. The feature-length film explores the complexity and mystery of soil and features soil scientists, farmers and activists. The film will also be show Sunday (March 22) at 1 p.m. at the Omak Theater. Read your poems at Trail’s End
MAW – the Methow Asylum for Writers – remains dormant for now, but not dead. Christine Kendall and others have formed the Confluence Women Poets. They will host a poetry event at Trail’s End Bookstore in Winthrop at 6:30 p.m. on April 15.
