LBHS varsities will take on alums in benefit basketball games

March 5, 2015 by Methow Valley News

Liberty Bell High School graduates who think they still have some “hops” are invited to play in a pair of benefit games against the Mountain Lions’ 2014-15 varsity basketball teams on March 14 at the high school gym.

The Liberty Bell Alumni Classic — which could become an annual event — will feature the varsity girls’ team vs. the alumni women at 7 p.m., followed by the boys’ varsity taking on the men’s alumni at 8:30 p.m.

The fundraiser will support sending Liberty Bell players to summer basketball camps and tournaments. Admission is $5. Concessions will be available.

There will also be a raffle and silent auction featuring items donated by local businesses.

Connor Walsh, 2008 graduate of LBHS and a former standout performer for the boys’ basketball team, is coordinating the event. Men and women alumni who are interested in playing can contact Walsh at connorwalsh5@yahoo.com or (509) 429-1095.

At halftime of the girls/alumni women game, there will be a three-point shootout between five varsity boys and five alumni men; and a team shooting competition pairing students and alumni.
