The Methow Valley Community School will host its Blue Bell Café and Art Auction on Wednesday (March 11) at the Twisp River Pub from 5-8 p.m.
The Café will feature a local-themed buffet dinner, locavores appetizers, drinks, songs and art to purchase. Limited child care will be available at the school by donation.
Tickets are available at Riverside Printing in Winthrop, the Community School, the Methow Valley Community Center, the Twisp River Pub, and online at brownpapertickets.com. Cost is $35 in advance or $40 at the door. A few “special seating” tables are available for $60 per person.
The Café is a major fundraising event for the school. “This year, 73 percent of our students are on scholarship,” said board president Sarah Longino-DeKalb. “The school is committed to offering its nature-based, student-driven, small-class-size experience to every child who needs it.”
In addition to the students’ hand-woven rugs, prayer flags, pottery and paper lanterns, the auction will include glasswork from Twisp River Glass, artwork by Jenn Allen Tate, and a variety of other works and performances by former students and their parents.
