Notes

We helped Lulu Belle celebrate her birthday last Thursday. She never forgets any of our birthdays so we sure couldn’t forget hers. She was happy with balloons, her own cake and gifts. Have a great year, Lulu Belle.

The February gift basket will be awarded on Friday (Feb. 27). You must be a member and attend for lunch.

AARP will offer free help with taxes again this year. For an appointment, call Bill Wehmeyer at 997-3352.

This year instead of putting on our own tea we are going to support the Winthrop Barn. Volunteers will help with the Spring Fling tea and fashion show on April 25. It will be fun to be the guests and be waited on instead of the hosts.

The Thrift Shop is open Monday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. We are closed on Saturdays until April.

The Senior Center is located next to the Methow Valley Community Center on Highway 20 in Twisp. Lunch is served at noon by the Okanogan County Transportation and Nutrition Program on Monday, Thursday and Friday. The suggested donation for lunch is $3.25 for seniors over age 60; the cost is $8 for those under 60. Annual membership dues are $1.25. For more information, call 997-7722.

Transportation is available locally for the senior lunch program, and for monthly trips to Omak/Okanogan the second Tuesday of the month and to Wenatchee the third Tuesday of the month. Call the Senior Center at 997-7722 for additional details.

Lunch menu

THURSDAY, FEB. 26: Beef stew, green salad, apricots, garlic biscuits, cookies.

FRIDAY, FEB. 27: Spaghetti and meat sauce, buttered corn, Caesar salad, garlic bread, blueberry crisp.
