March 27: Spring and Summer Sale starts
April 7: Over-80 party
Notes
A big thanks to Hank, Jimmy and all those who helped put on the senior dinner, and to Terry Hardesty and his band for all the great music. Now we have to wait another year. If you missed the dinner, you missed a lot of fun — good music and great prizes.
I think spring is officially here. I saw a whole flock of robins the other day (good sign).
Friday we had our Valentine’s Day party. Also, it was birthday cake day for the month. Otherwise it has been pretty quiet around the Senior Center.
Preparations are well underway for the Spring and Summer Sale. There are some brand new clothes with price tags still on them. Also, the Western Sale stash is getting bigger and bigger. It should be another big sale on Memorial Day weekend.
The Thrift Shop is open Monday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. We are closed on Saturdays until April.
The Senior Center is located next to the Methow Valley Community Center on Highway 20 in Twisp. Lunch is served at noon by the Okanogan County Transportation and Nutrition Program on Monday, Thursday and Friday. The suggested donation for lunch is $3.25 for seniors over age 60; the cost is $8 for those under 60. Annual membership dues are $1.25. For more information, call 997-7722.
Transportation is available locally for the senior lunch program, and for monthly trips to Omak/Okanogan the second Tuesday of the month and to Wenatchee the third Tuesday of the month. Call the Senior Center at 997-7722 for additional details.
