Calendar
Feb. 17: Bus to Wenatchee
March 27: Spring and summer sale starts
April 7: Over-80 party
Notes
Spring! I think we are all very ready for it to arrive. All the cars look like rolling dirt balls with dirty brownish loogies hanging off the bottoms and peepholes rubbed off on the windows to see through.
Anyone who wants to get their taxes done with AARP can contact Wenatchee Valley College in Omak at (509) 486-1115 for an appointment.
Friday was dance day, but there weren’t too many over-the-hill visitors this time. But I did see some shoppers come down to listen to the music. And it wasn’t long before they were dancing. Anyone is welcome to come in and join the dance.
It’s fun to watch the little ones get out there and boogie. I even heard one of my old favorites, “Pretty Red Wings.”
If you have donations for us, try and bring them in when we are open. Otherwise we may never see them.
Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone. Our celebration will be on Friday, with a few extra surprises added in for your lunchtime fun.
The Thrift Shop is open Monday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. We are now closed on Saturdays until April.
The Senior Center is located next to the Methow Valley Community Center on Highway 20 in Twisp. Lunch is served at noon by the Okanogan County Transportation and Nutrition Program on Monday, Thursday and Friday. The suggested donation for lunch is $3.25 for seniors over age 60; the cost is $8 for those under 60. Annual membership dues are $1.25. For more information, call 997-7722.
Transportation is available locally for the senior lunch program, and for monthly trips to Omak/Okanogan the second Tuesday of the month and to Wenatchee the third Tuesday of the month. Call the Senior Center at 997-7722 for additional details.
