Notes
The dining room was a sea of blue and green on Friday (Jan. 30) for our pre-Super Bowl Seahawks party. Our president Judy wore a black-and-white shirt and carried a ref’s whistle, which got everyone’s attention. There was a lot of yelling and cheering during the football toss game, which Alice Glandon won (I heard it said she might have cheated a little bit). Anyway, everyone was a winner and had lots of fun.
Thanks to Randee for planning and decorating for the party. Terry Mathis was the winner of the gift basket, which was full of goodies to snack on during the game.
You can now check out our new Facebook page. We have pictures of our last party and other events, also of our midnight shoppers who keep taking donated items from our porch in the wee hours of the morning. Our cameras really work and we are watching.
If you have nice items to donate, please bring them in when we are open so they won’t get stolen.
See you at the Hank’s Harvest Foods senior appreciation dinner on Tuesday (Feb. 10) at the community center gym.
Our spring and summer sale date has been set for March 27, so you can find some Easter finery and other Easter goodies. So think spring.
The Thrift Shop is open Monday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. We are now closed on Saturdays until next April.
The Senior Center is located next to the Methow Valley Community Center on Highway 20 in Twisp. Lunch is served at noon by the Okanogan County Transportation and Nutrition Program on Monday, Thursday and Friday. The suggested donation for lunch is $3.25 for seniors over age 60; the cost is $8 for those under 60. Annual membership dues are $1.25. For more information, call 997-7722.
Transportation is available locally for the senior lunch program, and for monthly trips to Omak/Okanogan the second Tuesday of the month and to Wenatchee the third Tuesday of the month. Call the Senior Center at 997-7722 for additional details.
