
The Loup Loup Alpine Ski Team competed in its first race of the season last weekend, mostly on man-made snow at Mission Ridge Ski Resort near Wenatchee. Eleven racers from the Methow and Okanogan valleys made a strong showing.
Among the girls, results were (for Saturday and Sunday):
McCalla Chesledon (Saturday only, 17th); Avery Catlin (28th, 22nd); Gabby Studen (25th, 24th); Eva Weymuller (12th, 15th); Cailin Chandler (9th, 5th); Ali Palm (4th, 6th); Olivia Glenn(14th, DNF).
Among the boys, results were: Carter Sheley (11th, 11th); Graham Shely (12th, 12th); Damon Alumbaugh (18th, 18th); Aidan Catlin (7th, 7th); William Jennings (16th,14th).
The team will be hosting its home race, the Wolf Chase, this Saturday and Sunday (Feb. 7-8) at Loup Loup Ski Bowl. They will welcome more than 100 junior ski racers from all over the state. There will be a giant slalom race each day on the Ridge Run. Spectators are welcome.
