The Liberty Bell High School wrestling team continued its march back to the state finals with impressive performances at last weekend’s Coyote Classic meet in Kittitas.
Defending state champions Meritt Fink, Emmett Fink and Trent Skelton each took first place in their weight classes for the Mountain Lions, who have won the state 1B/2B team championship for the past two years.
Brayden Charette took third place, Ivan Johnson took fourth place, and Reed Wenger took a second place in the JV bracket.
Next up for the Mountain Lions is the Central Washington B Mix-n-Match meet at Kittitas on Saturday (Jan. 31). The district meet in Oroville, on Feb. 6-7, will determine who moves on to the regional meet at Northwest Christian on Feb. 14.
The state tournament is in the Tacoma Dome on Feb. 20-21.
