Although we are closed to the public on Tuesday and Wednesday, the center is a beehive of volunteer workers, sorting, cleaning and preparing for the next big sales. The racks were rolled out into the sale room and spring and summer clothes were being hung. In the dining room, several ladies were busy pricing and storing things for the Western Sale, which is Memorial Day weekend.
I think everyone is wishing for some sunshine. All this fog and gloom is not good for the morale and it makes you low on vitamin D. So get a bottle of D and get some sun back in your system. Helps ward off colds and flu, too.
The Thrift Shop is open Monday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. We are now closed on Saturdays until next April.
The Senior Center is located next to the Methow Valley Community Center on Highway 20 in Twisp. Lunch is served at noon by the Okanogan County Transportation and Nutrition Program on Monday, Thursday and Friday. The suggested donation for lunch is $3.25 for seniors over age 60; the cost is $8 for those under 60. Annual membership dues are $1.25. For more information, call 997-7722.
Transportation is available locally for the senior lunch program, and for monthly trips to Omak/Okanogan the second Tuesday of the month and to Wenatchee the third Tuesday of the month. Call the Senior Center at 997-7722 for additional details.
