Mountain Lions XC coach Herlihy honored

January 15, 2015 by Methow Valley News

Craig Herlihy, coach of the Liberty Bell High School cross-country team, has been named a Coach of the Year for 2014 by the Washington State Cross Country Coaches Association. Herlihy will be honored at the 2015 Washington State Track and Field/XC convention on Saturday (Jan. 17).

The Liberty Bell boys’ cross-country team took fourth place at the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association State Cross-Country Championships at Pasco last November. It was the Mountain Lions’ best state finish since 2001 when Liberty Bell placed second at state. Over the previous four years Liberty Bell placed 14th, ninth, seventh and, in 2013, fifth at state.
