Cody Cupp, a 2012 Liberty Bell High School graduate, competed in the USA Cycling Collegiate National Cyclocross Championships last weekend in Austin, Texas. Riding for Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, Cupp came in seventh out of 90 Division 1 men, and second among his teammates.
Cupp helped Fort Lewis College to a second-place finish out of 36 colleges in the Division 1 team competition, based on a combination of results from the team relay and top two finishers from each college in the men’s and women’s races.
Earlier this season, Cupp placed second in the Rocky Mountain Collegiate Championships in Durango, Colorado. In November, he returned to Washington for Thanksgiving break and won the state cyclocross championship race for Washington and northern Idaho in the open/pro division. The race was held in Riverside Park near Spokane.
Formerly a member of the Methow CycleSport/Blue Star Coffee Roasters team, Cupp is a junior at Fort Lewis.
