Notes
On Friday (Jan. 2) we celebrated the new year with sparkling cider and made toasts to a much better new year, Mary Bean’s 100th birthday, Diana Hottell’s birthday, and many other things. Then the Hottells played dance music after lunch. Many of our friends from over the hill were there for the celebration.
The gift basket was won by Mary Ann Banes — congratulations, and we hope you enjoyed your bottle of bubbly even if was just cider.
We were all saddened by the passing of our volunteer Kazia’s husband, Richard Kuligowski. Our condolences go out to her and her family. Richard was also a volunteer for many of our events. He will be greatly missed by all of us.
The Thrift Shop is open Monday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m.–3:30 p.m. We are now closed on Saturdays until next April.
The Senior Center is located next to the Methow Valley Community Center on Highway 20 in Twisp. Lunch is served at noon by the Okanogan County Transportation and Nutrition Program on Monday, Thursday and Friday. The suggested donation for lunch is $3.25 for seniors over age 60; the cost is $8 for those under 60. Annual membership dues are $1.25. For more information, call 997-7722.
Transportation is available locally for the senior lunch program, and for monthly trips to Omak/Okanogan the second Tuesday of the month and to Wenatchee the third Tuesday of the month. Call the Senior Center at 997-7722 for additional details.
