New resources to help veterans with housing and to provide other supportive services are now available in Okanogan County. The new program is made possible by funding from the Department of Veterans Affairs for Okanogan County Community Action Council and HopeSource.
The Supportive Services for Veteran Families program works to prevent veterans and their families from becoming homeless and to provide rapid rehousing for those who have lost their homes.
Community Action is holding an open house to let people know about the program and hear from partner organizations about plans to increase services for veterans throughout the county. Attendees can also meet Shane Barton, the local case manager.
The open house is at Community Action at 424 Second Ave. in Okanogan on Friday (Jan. 9) at 11 a.m. For more information call (877) 641-0101.
