Cade Hink

In the winter I get a Christmas tree from the woods and bring it home. Then we decorate the tree with lights and ornaments. We have stockings and other stuff. But this year I am going to go to Arizona for Christmas. We will have a cactus for a tree. We are going to fly there. It will be fun.

What the winter holiday means to me in the Hanukkah holiday. It is where it is 7 days straight. Every night you would take the shamish and light the first one on the left. Then we eat latkes with my cousin and Mom, Dad and Maya. Then we play dreidel. Then we get our pillow case and reach in the pillow case and get our presents.

What I am going to do this Christmas is I am going to Graham for Christmas. I am going to help set up the ornaments and help bake cookies. I might build a snow man. I might build an igloo and I might build a snow ball. I might make a snow angel. I might want to go sledding and then I am going to drink hot cocoa.

On Christmas when I wake up and my brother and sister wake up we go into the living room. First we count the presents and my sister trys to steal our moms and dads presents and run and hide them. After our parents wake up we decide which goes first our stockings or our presents then we eat breakfast.

On Christmas I like to sleep in because I will have to wait even longer if I wake up because I have to wait for my other family to come to my house. But if I wake up and remember it is Christmas then I can’t help myself but to wake up.

Every Christmas I go outside of my bedroom, go in the living room and get the biggest present that’s mine, carry it to my sister’s room and sit on her head until she wakes up.  Then we go back to the living room.  She gets her biggest present and we run into my parent’s bedroom, yell in their ear and then open our biggest present.  Then my family lets me and my sister open our stockings.

On Christmas I wake up really early and steal my sisters candy cane. I get my snow pants and coat on and get my gloves and go sledding. When my mom and sister get up they look outside and I face plant on my sled. Then we drive to our grandma’s house and open the presents they gave to us. When we get back home we open presents and stockings. We drink hot chocolate with a candy cane in it.

Every Christmas Eve when me and my brother are with our dad we go to our grandma’s house.  When we’re with my mom we stay at our house.  In the morning at my mom’s house I pull all the stockings to my mom’s room.  And at my dad’s we do the same.

Last Christmas I went to my friend’s house with my mom and brother. My friend is Tristan. His dad cut down a Christmas tree, but branches were falling off!! So me and Tristan took the branches that fell off and tied them together and put it in a pot. We used all the ornaments we could to decorate the tree. Tristan’s dad walked into the living room and said, “You forgot the lights!!!” Then we put the lights on the ornaments.

Teague wakes up early and plays with her toys and Legos and puppy and family.  And Eamon likes to play basketball and Teague does too. Teague and Jeff and Eamon like to have bonfires together.

When I wake up I get a phone and take pictures until my parents wake up.  And if my parents don’t wake up I go and get my brother and we head to the living room and we open stockings and then my parents wake up and we go to my aunties.

The holidays are special. On Christmas I get warm and cozy in my Christmas pajamas. In December I decorate my tree with lights. On Christmas I get presents from Santa. We decorate my house with lights. They are multi colors.

What winter means to me is making ornaments and putting them on the tree and we wait and wait and wait until the morning and in the morning me and my sister get to wake up and get presents. They get their cameras and they take pictures and we go sledding. I ran over Kassie’s hand and we went inside and we watched a movie. We get a tree and we decorate the tree and we decorate our house and we dress up the dogs. We get treats and sing songs and we have lots of fun and we decorate our rooms.

On Christmas morning we make chocolate peanut butter balls.  They are always good and we eat while we are opening our stockings and presents.  I always get up really early and look in everyone’s stocking.  After we open presents and stockings we go outside and play with our toys.

Being with my family and getting together is the best time of all. Me and my family will go ice skating and drink hot chocolate and when the cat climbs in the tree me and my mom laugh so hard we almost cry.

I’d like to this winter flood my back yard with little snowmen and then I am going to build a very big snowman and he is going to be yelling, holding a bullwhip and wearing an army helmet. Then I am also going to put dog tags on him. When winter is almost over I’m going to wreck them with my dads’ golf clubs. But what Christmas really means to me is the celebration of when Jesus was born.

I like Christmas because it is a special holiday. It is fun because my cousins come and play. Me and Rhonan used sleds and snow for shields when we had a snow ball fight. Duncan, Rhonan and I played ball tag downstairs at Grandpa Larry and Grandma Janie’s house. We went sledding on the hill and Grandpa Larry and Grandma Janie’s house but my sled flipped on me before I knew it I was the sled.

I go up the stairs and me and Tristan or Jackson go to see the milk and cookies and the presents. We don’t get presents in the mourning we go to someone’s house and we have breakfast and then we go home. We open our presents and I got a present for my nana and papa and then we go sledding.

On Christmas Eve we always go to my grandma’s house and she has stockings for me my brother, sister and cousins. The stockings have our names on them and on Christmas day me and my brother wake up really early and wake up my mom and dad and then we open stockings and when we are done we eat French toast for breakfast and then open presents. Later we go to my other grandma’s house and open presents and then we go home.

When it is Christmas and there is snow on the ground I like to go skiing and sledding. I have a sledding hill, I always go sledding. After me and my sister go sledding we go inside and drink hot coco then we go open stockings and at night we open presents.

On Christmas day we put our Christmas tree up but we already put it up. Then me and my sister Stephanie will play games with snow. Then on the 24^th we get our presents. Then when Christmas is over we take down the Christmas tree. Me and my sister play snow forts, hide and see, gold hunters, swords, castles, snow angels, queens and kings and we all watch a movie.

When its Christmas time I like to put up the Christmas tree. Then we put on the red and white lights and put on the sparkly ornaments. Then we put up the stockings. Then when its Christmas Eve it’s hard for me to sleep. But when I wake up there are lots of presents under the tree from Santa. Then we go to our grandma’s house and have breakfast.

I love lighting the menorah and playing dreidel. It is fun. You win gilt after you play. You get to eat it. I love lighting the shamish that lights the other candles. There are eight days in Chanakah. You get latkes with sour cream and applesauce. You eat oil foods. It is about oil. You get presents. You open one present a night. You are supposed to put the menorah in the window so people can see it.

I like decorating the Christmas tree and sledding with family and opening presents with family. Best of all is making a snow fort. I love waking up with seeing what is in my stocking. I get presents at my grandma’s house and dad’s and mom’s house. I love having hot cocoa when I come in from outside. I love decorating gingerbread men with frosting and sprinkles.

I love winter because there is lots of snow. It’s peaceful when it rains on top of the snow but my dad gets all grumpy. I say, “Wet snow equals good building snow, Dad!” so we build snowforts, snowballs and snowmen families.
