Community School holiday show

“How Coyote Stole Fire” is the holiday performance presented by Methow Valley Community School students on Thursday (Dec. 18) at The Merc Playhouse in Twisp.

Doors for the free event open at 4 p.m. and the show begins at 5 p.m. The event includes a dessert auction, with proceeds to benefit the school’s scholarship program. For more information, call 997-4447.

Violin recital on Sunday

Pipestone School of Music student Keeley Brooks, a sixth-grader at Methow Valley Elementary School, will present a free violin recital on Sunday (Dec. 21) at 2 p.m. at The Merc Playhouse in Twisp. The recital will last about 45 minutes and will include two Handel sonatas and Corelli’s La Folia. Donations to Pipestone will be accepted. Refreshments will follow.

Winter exhibit at Sun Mountain

The winter exhibit at The Gallery at Sun Mountain Lodge is now open, with works by local artists including Michael Caldwell, Suzanne Powers, Laura Karcher, Salyna Gracie, Margaret Kingston, Kathy Meyers and John Adams. There will be an artists’ reception at the gallery on Dec. 28 from 4-6:30 p.m. The exhibit runs through March 9. For more information, call 997-7005.
