The Methow Valley School District is looking at dates to make up the snow day declared last Wednesday (Nov. 26).
Methow Valley School District Superintendent Tom Venable declared the snow day on Tuesday night because of heavy snow, downed trees and sporadic power outages. Wednesday was already slated for early release, so school would have ended about 12:30 p.m.
The district will have to make up the half-day because there are no snow days built into the schedule, said Venable. The calendar committee will look at options and most likely choose a date that is just before or after a scheduled break, or at the end of the school year, said Venable.
School families will be notified of the additional school day as soon as possible.
