Art in abundance

Local artists will bring their works together on Saturday (Dec. 6) for an “art abundance sale” at the Methow Gallery in TwispWorks from 2 – 8 p.m. For more information, call 997-0255.

Winter exhibit at Sun Mountain gallery

The Gallery at Sun Mountain Lodge will open its winter art exhibit on Dec. 12, featuring local artists including Michael Caldwell, Laura Karcher, Salyna Gracie, Margaret Kingston, Kathy Meyers and John Adams. There will be an artists’ reception on Dec. 28 from 4-6:30 p.m., followed by a performance by guitarist Terry Hunt in the main lobby. The exhibit will continue through March 9, 2015.

Kids’ art party

Children in grades 1 – 5 can learn about “snow painting” with Margaret Kingston at a kids’ art party on Dec. 12 at Confluence Gallery in Twisp from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Cost is $35. To register, call 997-2787.

Intimate show at Spartan Art Project

Spartan Art Project at TwispWorks will host another “intimate performances” event on Dec. 12 from 7 – 9 p.m. The show begins with a series of Carlton Complex and Rising Eagle Road fire-inspired films by Peter Vogt, followed by violinist Vanessa Moss playing Bach’s Chaconne in D Minor, and Moss and Brian Coyne playing excerpts from the Ravel Violin and Cello duet. Attendance is by donation, with all proceeds going to the performers. For more information, call 997-1022.

Methow Out my Window available

Limited edition copies of Methow Out my Window, a handmade book that includes original block prints, photography and poetry by Methow artists, are available from the Methow Conservancy. The books cost $250 and can ordered by emailing sarah@methowconservancy.org or calling 996-2870.
