Dinner benefits wildlife, habitat
The Mule Deer Foundation will host a benefit dinner on Nov. 22 at the Winthrop Barn to raise money for wildlife and habitats affected by the Carlton Complex Fire. Proceeds will go toward winter feeding, habitat restoration and some infrastructure such as deer fences. All funds will be used within the Carlton Complex areas.
The event begins at 5 p.m. Tickets are $25. There will also be live and silent auctions, and games with prizes. For more information, call (509) 995-0819.
Fundraiser for ski patrol
The Loup Loup Ski Patrol will show the film Pretty Faces: the Story of a Skier Girl, at a fundraiser beginning at noon on Dec. 6 at the Omak Theater.
The event will also include a raffle and unicorn costume contest. Tickets are $7 for students and $10 for adults and are available at brownpapertickets.com. Tickets will be $1 more at the door.
Pretty Faces is the first crowd-sourced, crowd-funded all-women’s ski movie, according to a press release from the ski patrol.
Proceeds will be used to acquire emergency medical supplies and equipment, and also for training and facilities at the Loup Loup Ski Bowl. For more in formation, call (509) 470-5299.
Sign up for JH Cheer Camp
Youngsters interested in becoming part of a cheer squad are invited to sign up for a junior high cheer camp.
The cost of the camp is $35 per student and registration forms are available at both the Liberty Bell High School and Methow Valley Elementary School offices. Completed forms need to be returned by Nov. 21.
