Jones, McMillan,Thornton-White named to All-League

November 13, 2014 by Methow Valley News

By Mike Maltais

Liberty Bell High School varsity football senior Chip Jones, junior Jacob McMillan and sophomore Charlie Thornton-White were among nominees to the Central Washington 2B All-League football teams announced recently by team coaches.

Jones was selected to the All-League Defensive First Team as a defensive back and made the Second Team offense as quarterback.

McMillan was an All-League Second Team defensive pick as a linebacker.

Thornton-White was named to the All-League Offensive Second Team as punter.

Players were selected from Liberty Bell, Okanogan, Tonasket, Brewster, Manson, Bridgeport, and Oroville by a vote of the team coaches last week.

Following a tough season on the gridiron that included a couple of cancellations due to a combination of injuries and ineligibilities, the Mountain Lions ended the season with a 55-6 loss to Oroville Oct. 31 and finished last in the CWB North with a 0-6 record.

One of the offensive linebackers picked for the All-League First Team was former Mountain Lion Gage Cotner, now playing for Okanogan.
