Sometimes you only have one game to play, but sometimes one is enough.
The Liberty Bell High School varsity girls’ soccer team saw a two-game week get whittled down to one when Manson cancelled a scheduled game on Oct. 9, but settled for a 2-1 victory over visiting Brewster on Oct. 7.
Eighth-grade forward Sally Thornton-White almost rode a shutout to the final whistle with two goals against the Bears, one of those off a Corrine Dietz assist.
A last-half penalty kick allowed Brewster to get on the scoreboard.
The Lady Lions were scheduled to host Tonasket on Tuesday (Oct. 14). Ahead for the Lady Lions are non-league games against Entiat on Thursday (Oct. 16), Omak on Saturday (Oct. 18), and league play at Bridgeport on Tuesday (Oct. 21).
