Loup fundraiser this weekend
The Taste of Three Valleys Benefit Auction, which supports the operation of Loup Loup Ski Bowl, will be on Saturday beginning at 5 p.m. in the Okanogan County Fairgrounds Agriplex.
Included are numerous food vendors, silent and live auctions, and music by Laura Love and the Family Dog. Cost is $40 per person, $400 for a table of 10 or $500 for a corporate sponsorship which includes a preferred table location.

Rodeo queen tryouts on Oct. 25
Tryouts for the Methow Valley Rodeo queen will be held Oct. 25 beginning at 11 a.m. at the rodeo grounds off of Twin Lakes Road. Candidates must be 13 to 18 years old. For more information, call 996-2439 or (509) 322-2651.
Ski swap benefits Barn, Nordic team
The annual Methow Valley Ski Swap, a fundraiser for the Methow Valley Nordic Team and the Winthrop Barn, will be on Nov. 1 at the Barn, offering a wide range of skiing gear and clothing.
North Cascades Mountain Guides is partnering with Winthrop Mountain Sports, Goat’s Beard Mountain Supply, the Methow Valley Ski School, Cascades Outdoor Store and Methow Cycle and Sport to stage the event, which will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The entrance fee is $2; kids under 16 will be admitted free. Fifteen percent of all sales will go to the Winthrop Barn and the Nordic team.

10K run/walk supports fire victims
The “Feet vs. Fire” 10-kilometer run and walk will be on Nov. 9, starting at the Mazama Community Club. There is no set entry fee but donations to Room One for fire and flood relief efforts are encouraged.
